Built to Connect Scotland’s Suppliers With the Travel Trade That’s Looking for them.

Connect2Tour exists because its founder, Chen Li, spent three decades learning, the hard way, what it actually takes to build something in Scotland from nothing — and then spent fifteen years inside the travel trade seeing the same problem repeat itself: incredible Scottish suppliers, and no direct, affordable way for the tour operators, DMCs, and agents who sell Scotland to the world to find them.

The Story

Chen Li arrived in Scotland over 30 years ago with no English and no contacts. What she built from there — first in hospitality, then over 15 years in travel, including founding and running her own company, Magna World — gave her an unusually clear view of both sides of this industry: what Scottish suppliers actually need, and what international buyers actually struggle to find.

That experience led to a simple but stubborn idea: B2B travel has a better way to work than expensive trade shows and cold outreach. Chen began developing that vision into Connect2Tour — until COVID stopped everything.

Building It Right

Rather than rush a platform out once travel resumed, Chen used that pause to properly map the vision into a working roadmap. To build it right, she brought in Robin Gifford, a serial entrepreneur with over 30 years’ experience starting and running small businesses, as co-founder. Together they partnered with Bad Dinosaur, one of Scotland’s leading web platform development companies, to build the platform itself.

The result was extensively tested before going live in April 2026. Chen and Robin are supported by Cheryl Prentice and the wider Connect2Tour team.
